Narewa Village, Fiji

Most years I try and spend at least a month in Navakai Village, since walking clueless through the streets some 8 years ago the friendships and caring nature of the families within have kept me close to heart, even at a distance.

Over the past 6 years the Daya family, the main family I've stayed with, have been building a new house; one that can withstand the ever present threat of a flood.

In 2012 they came close to losing their house to a flood, prompting Emosi to travel to Australia and work to finance a new house.

Now, the house is built, and they've relocated a short 10 minute walk to Narewa Village, where the kavalangi in a new village friendship building process starts again.
