Shark Diver

In late 2009 an opportunity arose for Luke Tipple (my brother) to be the first marine biologist to dive a newly found shark aggregation site in the South Pacific. While the concept was sound, the reality was Luke needed training to prepare both his mind and body to free-dive with Great White Sharks unexposed to the tourism industry. After 5 years working in the area Luke is one of the most respected and knowledgeable scientists to dive Isla Guadalupe, Mexico; however the new site would be another level no one has experienced.

A short film in the docu-drama space would provide a platform to advocate for the necessity of ecomanagement while sourcing much needed funds for the dive. 3 months after I wrote and directed the pilot, the end result is a culmination of both Luke's and my vision for the initial stage of the journey.
